Bernadette R. (Powers) Wall, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 58 years of age.
Bernadette was born in Boston on January 24, 1962, a daughter of the late John D. Powers and Mary (Burke) Powers. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and St. Francis De Sales Parochial School. She graduated from Matignon High School in 1980. Bernadette was a homemaker most of her adult life where family was paramount and her number one priority. While taking care of her own immediate family and their needs, she was always there to help out with her nieces and nephews whenever she was needed. The most joy in Bernadette's life was her loving granddaughter Madeline and she beamed with pride whenever they were together. In her spare time, Bernadette enjoyed reading, playing bingo and watching the old game shows on tv.
Bernadette is the devoted mother of Jean Wall, Stephen M. Wall II and Michelle Lyons and her husband Edward. She is the loving Nana to Madeline Lyons. She is the beloved sister of Jean McCluskey and her husband Gerald, Winifred Walsh, Carol Edwards and her husband Bob, John Powers, Michael Powers and his wife Patty, Mary McLaughlin and the late Helen Heuston, James Powers and Edward Powers. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. She was the former wife of Stephen M. Wall.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bernadette's Funeral on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
