LeRoy J. Hudson, 74

LeRoy J. Hudson, age 74, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Rachel (Vacher) Hudson.
Born in Brockton, MA on November 21, 1945, he was a loving son of the late LeRoy F. and Jeannette C. (Paille) Hudson.
LeRoy grew up in town and was a 1963 graduate of Norton High School. He also served his country for six years in the United States Army Reserve and was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton.
A self-employed metal spinner by trade, Mr. Hudson had also been employed in other capacities, including as a warehouse worker at the former Fernandes Supermarkets.
LeRoy loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed a lifelong passion for auto racing. He was an avid NASCAR fan and former racecar driver throughout New England, his favorite place to race and spectate being Seekonk Speedway. His other hobbies included helping his son build racecars, bowling and having a special place in his heart for animals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Donna J. White of Mansfield and Mark C. Hudson and his wife Amy of Norton. He is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 29th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Burial will be held privately, at a later date, at Saint Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
In lieu of flowers, LeRoy’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Norton Animal Shelter, 84 Hill St., Norton, MA 02766.
