Gerald Marvin Deese, 85, of Ashburn passed away Thursday October 22, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Gerald was born in Lake City, Florida on October 2, 1935. He retired from KMC. He was also a part-time driver for Parker Chevrolet. Gerald enjoyed going to the "coffee shop" every morning to socialize with his friends. He was a huge sports fan. He was also a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church in Ashburn.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Deese of Ashburn; daughter, Karen Murray Wynn of Perry; son, Chad Murray of Daytona, Florida; grandchildren, Amber Bryan, Noah Wynn Jonah Wynn, Hannah Leigh Murray, Eden Murray, Michael Bryan, Trey Laster and Gage Holley; great-grandchildren, George Ussery, II and Kiana Holley; great-great-grandson, Roman Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Deese and son, David Edmonds.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Social distancing guideline will be strictly enforced and masks will be required. While no formal visitation will be held, for those who wish, you may sign the family's guest register and pay your respects on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
