Obituary

Donna M. (Elliott) Humphrey, age 81, of Winchester, passed away at home on October 22, 2020, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. “Dick” Humphrey, Sr., and the loving mother of Joan M. Humphrey and Richard E. Humphrey, Jr, both of Winchester.

Born, raised and educated in Winchester, Donna was the daughter of the late Donald and Sylvia (Thompson) Elliott. She was a graduate of Winchester High School with the class of 1956, and made many of her lifelong friends there, some of whom were still visiting with her in her final days.

Donna became a registered X-Ray Tech and worked at Winchester Hospital, and then attended Middlesex Community College to obtain her Associates Degree. Subsequent to her employment at Winchester Hospital, Donna was employed as a Parish Secretary at the former Immaculate Conception Church in Winchester and then as the Data and Communications Manager at St. Mary’s Church in Winchester. She was always a valued employee and easily picked up many friends along the way with her ready smile, quick wit and handy stream of e-mail jokes.

In her spare time, Donna loved to visit Wells, ME with her family, at any time of the year. She also enjoyed going on cruises and having fun with casino gambling.

In addition to her children, Donna is lovingly survived by her sister, Mary Priante, and her husband Manny of Wilmington, a brother-in-law, Leo Garvey, of NH, a sister-in-law, Karen Brady, and her husband Phil, of Wellfleet, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Sally Garvey.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to briefly pay their respects at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Monday, October 26, from 9:00 - 10:45 AM, with adherence to mask-wearing and social distancing Covid-19 procedures, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 11AM.
