Obituary

WEBSTER – Stanley “Rico” Rogala, 59, of 11 Stoughton Avenue, passed away Sunday, March 5, at home surrounded by his family.

He leaves his wife of 34 years, Yvette M. (Girouard) Rogala; 2 sons, Eric S. Rogala of Woodstock, CT, and Christopher S. Rogala and his wife Devlin of Gilbert, AZ; a daughter, Joye Cumbia and her husband Andy of Shawnee, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, Jordan and Codey Rogala and Elizabeth and Sarah Cumbia; a brother, Edward A. Rogala, Jr., of Windham, ME; an uncle, Raymond Starzec of Webster; an aunt, Irene Augustyn of Dudley; 3 nieces.

He was born in Webster, the son of Edward A. Rogala, Sr., and Isabelle T. (Polubinskas) Rogala, and lived here all his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1966, where he played as a lineman of the varsity football team.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving in Korea for one year.

Mr. Rogala worked at the Norton/Saint-Gobain Company in Worcester for 34 years before he retired due to illness.

He was a life member of Saint Joseph Basilica and a weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. He was an enthusiast of all sports and a devoted fan of both the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed ice fishing.

The funeral, with military honors, will be held Friday, March 10, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 9, at the funeral home.
