Obituary

Lee Arthur Ken Ingles, 50, of Westfield, went to be with his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, as a result of an automobile accident on I-69 on October 19, 2020.
He was born on July 7, 1970 in Hillsdale, MI, graduated from Lakeview High School in 1989, received his BA in Exercise Sports Science and Elementary Education from Spring Arbor University and MA in Teaching from Marygrove College. He currently was the PE Teacher and Varsity Basketball Coach for Cowan Junior-Senior High School. Lee cherished time with his wife and his two sons, doing the things he loved; coaching, hunting, basketball and golfing. He attended East Side Church of God and Parkview Church of the Nazarene in Anderson.
Coach Ingles was a beloved member of the staff at Cowan Community Schools and a mentor to countless students. The foundation of his role as a teacher was the strong, personal relationships that he had with his current and former students. His greatest influence was on the young men that were a part of his basketball teams. In his last game coached for Cowan, he led the team to their first sectional championship since 1976. He instilled a level of confidence in his players that they didn’t always see in themselves. More important than any victory, the leadership he provided for his basketball players will be forever impactful in their lives. His influence, leadership, and positivity will forever be felt within the walls of Cowan Junior-Senior High School.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dr. Sally (Reed) Ingles of Westfield; Sally’s parents who loved him as their own, Glen and Flossie Reed Sr. of Lakeview, MI; two sons, Isaiah Ingles of Noblesville, and Shea Ingles of Westfield; two siblings, Kim (Ross) Schnepp of Riverdale, MI and David (Pam) Ingles of Ravenna, MI; an uncle, Kent Ingles of Gowen, MI; eight brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kandy (Terry) Evans of Lakeview, MI; Buffy (Cal) Gurney of Talkeetna, AK; Glen (Jennifer) Reed Jr. of Spring Arbor, MI; Tina (Robert) Duresky of Phoenix, AZ; Tim (Michelle) Reed of Lakeview, MI; Doug (Dalaina) Reed of Holly, MI; Rose Reed of Lakeview, MI, and Rick (Anna) Reed of Holland, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
