George D. Baldwin, 76, of Hampstead, NH, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 in the Haven Health Center in Derry, NH. Mr. Baldwin was born in Medford, MA on May 25, 1929, a son of the late Herbert and Eleanor (Chambers) Baldwin. He was a resident of Hampstead for the past 18 years. Mr. Baldwin lived in Maine for many years, before moving to Melrose, MA where he attended Melrose High School. Mr. Baldwin served in the US Air Force from 1946 - 1953 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a charter member of the Massachusetts Auxiliary Police Association. He was a past master of Palestine Lodge AF & AM of Everett, MA, a past grand royal patron of Massachusetts Order of the Amaranth and a member of the Corona Court #2, Order of the Amaranth. Mr. Baldwin was a past volunteer and board member of the Rockingham Hospice, and a past board member of Cranberry Meadows Condominium Association. He was also a member of the Hampstead Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Baldwin of Hampstead, one son, William J. Baldwin and wife Paula of Northfield, NH, one daughter, Robin C. Sablock and husband John of Stoneham, MA, one step daughter, Teri L. Skinner and husband James of Hudson, NH, one step son, Glen R. Brann of Sandown, NH, three grandchildren, Patrick Michael Baldwin of Billerica, MA, Glen James and Dillion John Brann of Sandown, one sister, Alma Rider and husband Milton of S. Yarmouth, MA, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 8th at 10:00am in the Hampstead Congregational Church, Main St., Hampstead. The burial was in the West Hampstead Cemetery in Hampstead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hampstead Fire and Rescue Squad, 17 Little's Lane, Hampstead, NH 03841, or to the Rockingham VNA Hospice, 137 Epping Rd., Exeter, NH 03833.
