Obituary

WEBSTER – Marilyn (Ernst) Remington, 78, passed Saturday, October 17, 2020 in the presence of her family after an illness. Her husband of 49 years, Robert L. Remington, died in 2011.

She leaves three sons, Mark A. Remington and his wife Mi of Attleboro, Michael C. Remington and his wife Rachel of Layton, UT, and Christopher D. Remington and his wife Sarah of Medfield; 7 grandchildren, Ron, Sam, Michael, Jessi, Hailee, Megan and Mia; a brother, Carlton “Buddy” Ernst and his wife Barbara of Dallas, GA; a brother-in-law, Ward Remington and his wife Paula of West Springfield; beloved neighbors and “extended family” Lori & Walter Gardner and children W.J. and Aly; nieces and nephews. She also leaves a close family friend Elizabeth “Libby” Maxton whose love and comfort will be forever remembered.

Marilyn was born and raised in Holyoke, the daughter of Carlton and Stella (Senko) Ernst. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Nichols College in Dudley. She resided in the Westfield area for several years before moving to Webster in 1970.

Mrs. Remington worked in banking for forty years. She was a teller at local banks and then a customer service representative at Santander Bank in Webster, retiring in 2014.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 21, in Mount Zion Cemetery, Old Worcester Road, Webster. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, prior to the service. The family requests adherence to Covid-19 precautions including wearing a mask at all times, physical distancing, and virtual hugs and kisses. Donations in her name may be made to Care VNA and Hospice, 191 Pakachaog Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
