Patrick Greco, age 92, passed away peacefully this past weekend at Mountain View Care Center in Scranton, Pa. He was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in Scranton to Theresa and Lawrence Greco, formerly of Scranton.
Patrick worked as a mason followed by employment for more than 25 years with the city of Scranton in the Department of Public Works. Patrick was known by many for his huge smile, infectious laugh, and his ability to make others laugh with telling his endless jokes. Pat was an avid lover of many things to include working on classic cars, wrestling and listening to "oldies" music, especially Frank Sinatra. Pat also thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, attending social gatherings, and dancing anywhere in public to entertain spectators. Patrick genuinely left a lasting impression with anyone he encountered and will be deeply missed by many.
Patrick leaves behind his beloved wife, Andrea Greco, of 40 years, whom they had six children between them: Sally Greco, of Fleetville, Pa.; Patricia Jones, of Wapwallopen, Pa.; William Greco, of Taylor, Pa.; Mary Jo Swint, of Riverview, Fla.; Randy Rukse, of Goodyear, Ariz.; and Gary Rukse, of Tampa, Fla.
Patrick also leaves behind nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Patrick's family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the entire nursing home staff at Mountain View for their extraordinary care and support during his residency. They also express their deepest gratitude to Joseph Kuehner for his unwavering support and assistance in caring for Patrick and Andrea during this difficult time.
A private service will be held Friday at Holy Cross Parish at St Patrick's Church, Olyphant, Pa., with a burial service immediately following at Farview Memorial Park in Elmhurst, Pa.
Arrangements are being handled by the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant.
