Obituary

WEBSTER – Cecelia B. “Sid” (Kujawski) Starosta, 98, of Everett Avenue, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Webster Manor.

She was born inWebster, the daughter of Anthony and Helen (Pepka) Kujawski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemence J. Starosta, Sr, in 1990.

She is survived by her loving son, Clemence A. Starosta and his wife Patricia of Webster;
a brother, Felix “Phil” Kujawski of Dudley; 4 granddaughters, Michelle Fasshauer and husband Mike of North Grosvenordale, CT, Theresa Haggerty and husband Kyle of Charlton, Jean Kirby and husband Tim of Oxford, and Joanne Grzembski and husband Ed of Webster; 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her six brothers Joseph, Edward, Frank, Leo, Chester and Bernard.

Mrs. Starosta was a spinner at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley, a waitress at Starosta Brothers Café, and a clerk at Harris Street Market. Her most cherished position, however, was being a homemaker for her son and grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes included cooking pies and desserts on her antique cast-iron stove, playing cards, playing bingo and taking trips to Webster Lake.

She was a life member of St. Joseph Basilica and a long time member of its St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 8, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home,
340 School St., with a concelebrated Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 7, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.
