WATERBORO- Susan Rhodes, age 69, passed away on October 10, 2020 at Maine Medical Center from complications of diabetes.
Susan was born September 10, 1951, the daughter of Babe and Pauline Morrill. She spent her childhood in Alfred, eventually moving to Waterboro and graduating from Sanford High School in 1969. Sue went on to cosmetology school, briefly owning her own beauty shop. She married Kenneth Rhodes on July 8, 1978.
Sue was well known as a cook at Massabesic High School where she worked for many years and was well loved by the students. She enjoyed baking, knitting, and camping at Bunganut Lake, where her family camped for many years amongst friends.
She is predeceased by her parents and younger brother Gary Morrill. She is survived by Kenny, her husband of 42 years, son Dustin Rhodes, daughter Amanda Mackell (and her husband Ken and their sons Cullen and Grady), brother Allan Morrill, sister-in-laws Christine Morrill and Nancy Morrill and nephews Adam Morrill and Stephen Morrill.
Public visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 16 from 10 - 11 AM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. A private funeral for the family will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
