Obituary

Jane B. (Clougherty) Green, (Retired Fire Prevention, Boston Fire Department), a resident of Danvers and formerly of Charlestown, Dorchester and West Roxbury, entered into eternal life on Friday, October 9, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at Care One of Peabody Nursing Facility in Peabody. She was 75 years of age.

Jane was born in Boston on December 11, 1944, a daughter of the late retired Boston Fire Department Chief of The Department John Clougherty and Anna (Hennessey) Clougherty. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Jane worked as an Administrative Clerk in the Fire Prevention Unit of the Boston Fire Department and retired following over 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Boston. In her spare time she enjoyed camping and playing cards and cribbage. Jane enjoyed quality moments of her life with her family which was very important to her and she cherished the special moments with her grandchildren.

Jane is the beloved wife of 55 years to James E. "Jim" Green. She is the devoted mother of Jane Mayo and her fiancé Edward Grace, Karen Green, James E. Green Jr. and his wife Lisa and Kathleen "Katie" DiBella and her husband Vincent. She is the loving Nana to Amanda, Kasey, Mark, Olivia and Brooke. She is the beloved sister of Patricia Roney, Joseph Clougherty (Boston Fire Department), Leo Clougherty, Jean Harrington, Mary McNelley and the late Evelyn Hanf, Cecelia Clougherty, retired Boston Fire Department Deputy Chief John Clougherty, Boston Firefighter Robert Clougherty, Paul Clougherty, Bernard Clougherty, Charles Clougherty (Boston Fire Department) and Peter Clougherty. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jane's Funeral Mass on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. (FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED INSIDE CHURCH). Her burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
