Obituary

WORCESTER___Mary E. (Leahy) Glynn, 86, of Worcester passed away on Friday October 2, 2020 in the Christopher House, Worcester.

Mary is survived by her children, Ann Marie Wright and her husband David of Auburn, MA., Michael W. Glynn and his wife Sarah of Lake Forest, IL., and Kevin C. Glynn and his wife Heidi of Dartmouth, MA., three grandchildren, Will Glynn, Connor Glynn and Annie Glynn, three sisters, Ann Smith of Auburn, GA., Margaret Hoey and Joan Scanlan both of Westwood, MA., and several nieces and nephews. In addition, Mary is survived by two step-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.

Mary was born in Boston, MA., a daughter of the late Michael L. and Margaret (O’Driscoll) Leahy. Mary graduated from high school in Boston and earned her nursing degree from Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. Mary worked as a Registered Nurse at multiple hospitals and private practices including Tufts New England Medical Center for many years before she retired. Mary lived in several towns in Massachusetts including Medway, Sandwich, Pembroke, Sturbridge and Worcester. She also resided in Georgia for about 10 years before returning to Massachusetts. She has resided in the Central Mass area for the past 15 years.

Mary was a very religious woman. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed reading, knitting and also loved animals especially cats and dogs. She was an avid RedSox fan and loved discussing politics as well as all things Irish.

The funeral will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury will be held privately.
