Obituary

Richard T. Scolley of Somerville passed away on Monday, October 5th. A lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Phillip and Dorothy (Gaye) Scolley. Richard proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home he was employed by the City of Somerville Highway Department.

Richard was a loving, caring and giving man. A very hard worker, he was a wonderful provider, husband, father and grandfather. Richard was also a gentle man, but protective of those close to him; his nickname when playing hockey was "Sugar-Bear."

Richard was the beloved husband of Norma (Johns) Scolley, and the devoted father of Richard Scolley and his wife Cathryn of Greer, South Caroline, and Christopher Scolley and his wife Robin of Somerville. He was the loving grandfather of Felecia Scolley and her boyfriend Kyle Rizzo, and Dominic and Aiden Scolley. Richard is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, October 14th at 10 AM followed by a service conducted in the First Congregational Church, 230 Beach St., Revere, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours with social distancing protocols will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, from 3 through 6 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford.
