Kathleen Murphy-Krosunger:
Ms. Kathleen M. Murphy-Krosunger, a resident of Medford and beloved spouse of Peter Krosunger Jr. passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Monday, October 5, 2020. She was 68 years old.
Kathy was born in Queens, New York, on February 28, 1952, she was the devoted daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Nash) Murphy. Kathy was also the loving stepdaughter of the late James Genua, who married her mother when Kathy was young. Kathy was a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo and later earned a Graduate degree from Long Island University in Healthcare Administration, a field in which she dedicated her entire career to. Kathy was a Lifetime Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Most recently Kathy was employed as Senior Director, Department of Medicine, Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kathy was friend and mentor to many in her life, freely giving her time, friendship and advice. She will be dearly missed.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed outdoor activities, whether they be walking, hiking, sailing, kayaking or cross-country skiing. She was an avid reader, mysteries being her favorite. Kathy was fond of exploring Museums and Art Galleries. Kathy took pleasure in talking to her friends in her garden as well as visiting them. She also looked forward to visiting her family in New York.
Besides her devoted husband; Peter, Kathy is survived by her loving siblings: James and his spouse Juanita Genua of New London, Connecticut, Joseph and his spouse Marybeth Murphy of Oceanside, New York, Michael and Dorothy Murphy of Floral Park, New York and Maureen Murphy of Redondo Beach, California, brother-in-law; Walter Locke of Bluffton, South Carolina and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen is survived by her loving mother; Catherine Genua of Manhasset, New York. Kathy is also the sister of the late Janet Joyce and Patricia Locke.
Her Memorial Service will held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 11 AM.
