CHICOPEE - Sandra M. Hreschuk, 82, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on July 8, 1938, a beloved daughter of the late Colja and Mary (Leschuk) Hreschuk. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce in Springfield and had moved to Chicopee around 1985. She furthered her education and attended Springfield Technical Community College. She was employed as a medical secretary at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was a member of Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Enfield, CT. She was a wardrobe mistress at the Storrowton Theatre in West Springfield and also sang with the Springfield Symphony Chorus. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her dear brother, Richard Hreschuk of Chicopee; and her many dear cousins, extended family members and friends. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 343 North Maple Street, Enfield, CT 06082 followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Her burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
