Obituary

Marvin A. Hanson, 74, of Windham, New Hampshire passed away on October 6, 2020 surrounded by a loving family.
He was born to parents Ruth and William Hanson, on April 19, in Bemidji, Minnesota. Marv graduated from Bemidji High School where he played Football, Baseball and Basketball. In 1968, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Harvard University.

The week following graduation, Marv married Carolyn (Vaughan). Shortly after, he served in the Army where he was deployed to Vietnam for two terms.

Marv had a thirty-year career working for Verizon in the regulatory department. In addition, he refereed Pop Warner Football, coached basketball and was actively involved in all of his sons’ many sporting activities.

He is also survived by son Eric and his wife Tanya, grandsons Tyler, Ryan and Evan, son Jon and partner Karen. Marv was predeceased by his forever loved and missed son Bill, his parents, two brothers and a sister.

During Marv’s retirement, he could often be found donating his time as a tax preparer for AARP, reading books, playing bridge and socializing with friends. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially family vacations, reunions and holidays. Over the years, Marv enjoyed caring for the many family pets.

The memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.
