Funeral services for George T. Gorday, age 62, of Rebecca, Ga. will held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 6, 2006 at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. Gorday died Saturday at Tift Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Mr. Gorday was born in Tift County and was the son of the late Herbert R. and Letty Gilley Gorday. He had lived all of his life in Turner County and was a retired farmer. Mr. Gorday served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Sycamore Masonic Lodge #210 and Hasan Shrine Temple in Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Phillips Gorday, of Rebecca, two sons, Bert & Mica Gorday, Rebecca, Chad & Nikki Gorday, McRae, Ga. and his faithful dog, Mollie.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
