Dartmouth – Brenda M. (Aguiar) Sousa, 52, of Dartmouth, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at home surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was the wife of John P. Sousa, Jr.
She was born in Fall River, daughter of Bento Aguiar of Fall River and the late Mary (Paulino) Aguiar Holland, and had resided in Dartmouth for the past 32 years. Mrs. Sousa was a cook at Buddys Family Restaurant in Tiverton, RI. She loved to bake and decorate cakes and was an avid gardener.
Including her husband and father, she is survived by: a son: Jeremy J. Sousa of Dartmouth; a daughter: Jodi M. Medeiros of Fall River; 2 brothers: Kenneth Aguiar of Westport and Alan M. Manchester of Westport; 5 grandchildren: Jared Medeiros, Austin Medeiros, Arianna Medeiros, Sophia Sousa and Sydney Sousa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Raymond Aguiar.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 4 – 8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
