Raymond "Ray" Carlton Wilson, Jr., 49, of Ty Ty passed away Monday, October 5, 2020, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Wilson at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Danny Ray will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Bruce Wilson, Donn Taylor, Robert “Tripp” Fitzgerald, Callie Fitzgerald, Baylee Fitzgerald, Hunter Wilson and Wesley Lasseter will serve as pallbearers. Chuck Talley and Trey Woolery will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born February 27, 1971 in Tifton, Mr. Wilson was the son of Jennifer Copeland Wilson of Ty Ty and the late Raymond Carlton Wilson, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hobert Wilson and Hattie Wilson; and his maternal grandfather, James Copeland. He was employed at Walmart and loved sports and science fiction movies.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Wilson is survived by one sister, Haley Fitzgerald of Tifton; his maternal grandmother, Odessa Copeland of Tifton; one nephew, Robert “Tripp” Fitzgerald, III and his wife, Baylee Fitzgerald; one niece, Callie Fitzgerald; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; and his beloved dog and companion, “Chico”.
