John L. “Jack” “Porky” Creed, Jr., 74, died at the Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, FL on Friday, March 3 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Linda M. (Merrin) Creed. Born in Rockland, he was educated in Brockton schools. Mr. Creed was a resident of Falmouth and Delray Beach, FL for several years after growing up in Brockton. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Creed was in the air cargo industry for 30 years and was a salesman for Evergreen International Airlines for the last 6 years before retiring 10 years ago. He was a Pioneer for the Florida Foreign Trade Assn. He was a member of the Teamsters and the Tin Can Sailors. In his free time he loved bike riding, reading, traveling and spending time with his wife and his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Creed is survived by his children, John E. Allard of Huntington, NY and Nancy M. Goodhile of Jefferson, MA as well as his grandchildren, Alex and Douglas Goodhile and Kristin Allard and his sisters, Ann MacGowan of Arlington and Jane Vera of Cambridge. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Louis and Daniel Goodhile.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 9 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 9 AM. Interment will take place at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne. Donations in Jack’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
