Alberto Ruidiaz, Sr., age 66, of Boston, formerly of Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his adoring family, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the home of his daughter in Taunton.
Born in Havana, Cuba on September 19, 1954, he was a loving son of Naomi (Navea) Ruidiaz of Florida and the late Florentino Ruidiaz.
Alberto and his family moved to the United States when he was twelve years old. They first settled in California and later moved to New Jersey and Boston. He was educated in Boston and was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School.
Mr. Ruidiaz was a talented cook and had worked at Ashley’s Restaurant in Boston and while living in Florida, was employed as a mason. Roberto’s greatest love in life was his cherished family. He enjoyed cooking for others, helping family and friends with home renovation projects and his hobbies included bowling and playing baseball.
He is survived by his devoted children: Diana L. Torres and her husband Robert of Taunton, Tina Ruidiaz of Brockton, Natasha Barbosa of Randolph, Stephanie Barbosa of Randolph, Alberto Ruidiaz, Jr. and his wife Casandra of Boston and Daniel Ruidiaz of Boston. He is also survived by his cherished 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, his 10 dear siblings and was pre-deceased by 1 brother. He was the former husband of Donna (St George) Ruidiaz of Georgia.
In accordance with Alberto’s wishes, services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
