Obituary

Kenneth P. Sweezey, age 77, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Monday, September 28, 2020. Ken was raised and educated in Braintree. After high school he joined the Army and served during the Vietnam War.

When Ken returned from the Army, he immediately entered the fencing industry. Ken owned and operated Sweezey Fence in Whitman from 1969 until 2020. He built his business based off his own quality characteristics; hard work, honesty, and kindness. Ken always looked for ways to help his friends and family.

Ken also enjoyed travelling, his Corvette, fishing, gardening, but most of all spending time with his family.

Ken was predeceased by his parents John and Myrtle Bates (Payne) Sweezey, his siblings Joyce, David, and James Sweezey, and his step-daughter Kim Brunet. Ken is survived by his beloved wife Theresa Sweezey (Flynn) of E. Bridgewater, his children Kenneth Sweezey Jr., Shannon O’Donnell and her husband Thomas of Abington, Melinda Sweezey, and his step-daughter Kathy Hitchcock and her husband Kenneth of N. Carolina, and his grandchildren Kenneth Sweezey, Billy Sweezey, Eoin O’Donnell, Kyleigh O’Donnell, and Matthew Hammer. Ken is also survived by his siblings Marlene Simmons, Ronnie Sweezey, and his former wife Anne Sweezey (DeDominici) of Abington.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the graveside service for Kenneth which will be held at Bourne National Cemetery located on Connery Ave. in Bourne, MA at 10:15am on Friday October 9, 2020. Donations in memory of Ken may be made to Beacon Hospice at 32 Resnik Rd. #3 Plymouth, MA 02360
