Amanda Michelle Payne, 37, of Douglas, formerly of Tifton, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ronny Vice officiating. Ben Ober will give a eulogy. Ms. Payne will be laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 29, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with social distancing being observed.
Jeff Walker, Steve Watson, Ben Ober, Eric Fletcher, Landon Fletcher and Lee Hall will serve as pallbearers. Gary Jewell will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Born November 22, 1982 in Tift County, Ms. Payne was the daughter of Randy and Cecilia Payne of Tifton. She loved her family, friends, classmates and her “Nannie”. She enjoyed watching movies, arts and crafts, cooking and her pets. She was a fighter with a strong will to live until her Lord called her home.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Payne is survived by one son, Gary Kevin Randall Jewell of Douglas; one daughter, Brooke Payne of Tifton; two sisters, Rachel Payne Ober of Raleigh, North Carolina and Keely Dietrich of Columbus; and one brother Jesse Harper, formerly of Tifton.
