Obituary


Vartouhi "Rose" Ohannessian was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in Beirut, Lebanon, migrated to America in 1978, and lived in Watertown/Waltham. She passed away peacefully on September 24, 2020.

The daughter of Khatchadour and Yeprouhi Ohannessian. Widow of the beloved Garabed Nalbandian. Loving sister of Ohanness and Nazelli Ohannessian of Watertown, Haroutioun and Alvard Ohannessian of Tujunga, CA, and Nazareth and Jeannine Ohannessian of Salem, NH. Loving Sister in Law to Marita Ohannessian, Anahid Kenbelian, Vehan Sarkisian, Tina Khoja, and Hovsep and Maro Nalbandian.

She is survived by her 5 daughters, Annie Tenkerian, Margo Nalbandian, Astric Nalbandian, Lisa and Naim Khoury, and Mary Nalbandian. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. Granddaughter Taylor, and 5 grandsons Kevork, Samuel, Alex, Daniel, and Herbert.

Rose was a loving, caring, and a gentle soul. Everyone who met her, knew how kind and generous she was.
She was very well known for her beautiful voice, because her passion in life was music and singing. She sang in the choir at St. James Armenian Church, St. Stephen's Armenian Church, and Soorp Vartanants Armenian Church in Beirut, Lebanon.

She was a great cook, and she loved family functions where her whole family came together to celebrate. She will be fondly remembered and painfully missed by all her family and friends.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and current public safety measures, the funeral will be private.
