Obituary

Robert Waldermar Holton, Jr., 86 of East Bridgewater passed away September 21 at his home following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Ohman) Holton.

Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Robert Holton, Sr. and May (Anderson) Holton.

After many years of dedicated service, Bob retired from the former Brockton Edison.

His passion was music. After high school he formed the” Four Sharps Quartet” along with members Bob Keith, Ray Cummings and Dave Keith and they continued to perform together for over forty years. In later years, he sang with the South Shore Men of Harmony and brought the group together again in the 90’s. He also sang with the Galloneers and in the Acapella Choir under the direction of Rodney May and had enjoyed singing praises with the Massasoit Seniors Chorus.

He is survived by his brother Dwight Holton of Buzzards Bay, his daughters Debby Clish and her husband Pat and Cynthia Lane and her husband Calvin all of East Bridgewater. He was grandfather to Heather McNeil, Shannon McNally, Kathryn Stanfa and the late Amy Lane and great grandfather to Emilia and Isla McNeil and Greyson Stanfa. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Leila Curley.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Saturday September 26 from 10:00AM–12:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) Whitman and his graveside service, scheduled for 1:00PM in the Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater. All other services are private.
