DANIELSON, CT/WEBSTER – Linda J. (Stockdale) Cheroff, 52, of 29 Tiffany St., Danielson, died March 1, 2006, in Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam, after being stricken ill at home.
She leaves her husband of 15 years, Everett P. Cheroff; her father, Donald F. Stockdale and her step mother, Muriel E. (Follett) Stockdale; a brother, Donald L. “Chet” Stockdale, all of Webster; nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester and raised in Webster, the daughter of Jeannette (Leslie) Stockdale. She lived in South Killingly and Putnam before moving to Danielson a year ago. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1971.
Mrs. Cheroff worked at area textile mills, including Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley. She was then the assistant manager of Honey Farms in Webster until a few years ago.
She was a former member of the United Church of Christ, Federated, in Webster. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and especially communicating with others. She was known for her kindness. She had a special love for her dog Ruby.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 11, at 10:30 AM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster. Calling hours will be from 9:00 to 10:30 that morning in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American Lung Association, 5 Mountain Road, Burlington, MA 01803 or to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Road, PO Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
