PORTLAND- Peter Frederick Dickson, of Portland, passed away on September 18, 2020, at the Gosnell House in Scarborough, ME.
He was born in Portland, on December 9, 1942, the son of Dorus (Dick) and Mary Dickson. Peter graduated from South Portland High School in 1962.
He served two years in the US Army. He would often recount the earthquake that he experienced while stationed in Alaska.
He married Pauline (Biskup) and together they raised two children. He enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, reading, participating in his grandchildren’s activities and most of all time at his beloved camp on Pequawket Lake in Limington.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years Pauline, his son Richard Peter Dickson and fiancé Jen Farr of Westbrook, ME, daughter Kelly Ann Kennedy and fiancé Eric Peters of Portland, ME and Westbrook, ME. Peter had four grandchildren: Pauline Kennedy, Hannah & Travis Farr and Adyson Peters.
He is also survived by sisters Betsy Dickson, Jean Dickson and Patty Moskowitz. He was predeceased by his mother, father and brother John.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Northern Light Home Care and Hospice especially Laurie, his hospice nurse and Cheryle his heath care aid. Peter’s wish was to stay at home as long as possible and their help allowed us to grant this wish. We would also like to thank Gosnell House for their care. Peter took his last breath in their loving and respectful care.
A graveside service will be held on Friday Sept. 25 at 1 PM at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland. A private celebration of life service will be held at the Grace Bible Church in Gorham.
