Sylvia M. Amenta, age 91, of Medford passed away on Friday, September 18. A lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Lucia (Carpenteri) Amenta. Sylvia was employed at Filene's Basement in Boston for over 60 years, retiring as a manager.
Sylvia was the dear sister of Nellie Russo of Burlington, and the late Paul Amenta and his surviving wife Frannie of Burlington. She was the devoted aunt of Mindy O'Neil and her husband Jay of Tewksbury, Paul Russo and his partner Amy Gebo of Salem, Lori Dombrowski and her husband David of Farmington, New Hampshire, Paul Amenta Jr. and his partner Sherry Makerney of Sandwich, and Deena Withycombe and her husband Bill of Burlington. Sylvia is also survived by many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
At her family's request, all services for Sylvia will be private.
