Obituary

Kathryn "Kathy"(Gorman) Rodrigues, a longtime resident of Somerville and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly at her home on Thursday, September 17, 2020. She was 67 years of age.

Kathy was born in Lowell on June 29, 1953, a daughter of the late Thomas A. Gorman and Joan M. (Murray) Gorman. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Cambridge in 1972. Kathy furthered her education later in life and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in English from Suffolk University and her Masters Degree in Education from Suffolk University. Kathy worked as a Administrative Coordinator at Suffolk University for over 20 years. Kathy was devoted to her faith and church and was a daily communicant, eucharistic minister and a Secular Franciscan at St. Anthony's Shrine on Arch St. in downtown Boston. She was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, a volunteer at the Amy Lowell House in Boston and an active volunteer at The Boston Living Center. Kathy was an outdoors person who enjoyed all kinds of activities being outside with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking her famous banana bread and enough to donate to all her family and friends. She enjoyed Regina Pizza in Medford for many family functions but most of all in Kathy's life were her daughter and her partner and son and his wife and her 7 wonderful grandchildren who she cherished and was very proud of their accomplishments.

Kathy is the devoted mother of Keri Rodrigues and her partner Tim Langan and David Rodrigues and his wife Melissa. She is the loving Nana to Matthew, Miles, David, Julia, Emma, Max and Dylan. She is the beloved sister of Christine Cullison and her husband Harold, Michael Gorman and his wife Judy, Erin DiBenedetto and her husband Joe and the late Thomas A. Gorman II. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dog Maggie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kathy's Funeral on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home. (FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED INSIDE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH.)
