Obituary

Cornelius (Neil) T. Duffy, of Weymouth, formerly of Braintree and Rockland, Massachusetts passed away on September15th, at home with his family, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born in Boston, MA in 1940, Neil was the son of Thomas and Anne Duffy.

He graduated from Harvard University and got his Master’s degree from Babson College. He served in the Navy ROTC in his early 20’s while in college. After graduating from college, he served in the Navy as a purser on a ship for a few years traveling to many countries. Early on in his career, he was a buyer for Jordan Marsh. Eventually, he became a real estate agent.

He enjoyed following Boston sports, reading about history, watching Wheel of Fortune, skiing, swimming, and spending time with his family.

He was married to his wife Sandra for 54 years, and was the youngest brother to John Duffy and the late Thomas Duffy and Mary Storti.

He leaves behind three children and their spouses: Christopher and Karen Duffy of Hanson, Karen and Philip Bannerman of Bellaire, Texas, and Heather and William Cash of Braintree. He was an adoring grandfather to Christopher, Sean, Nicholas, Andrew, Keira, Lucy, Caroline and Michael. Neil is also survived by several caring nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, September 20th from 2-4 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Family members are invited to a funeral Mass on Monday, September 21st at 9AM at St. Bridget’s in Abington, MA 455 Plymouth Street.

Social distancing and masks will be required.
