Catherine S. (Vara) Doucette a longtime Needham resident died on Monday February 27th at the Stanley R. Tippett House in Needham. She was 91 years old. Born in Needham Mrs. Doucette was a former employee of Calvert’s Clothing store in Needham for many years. She was an active volunteer at the Steeple Exchange at the Christ Episcopal Church in Needham. Mrs. Doucette was active member of the Needham Senior Center, where she volunteered serving meals. She was also a member of the Songsters. Mrs. Doucette is going back to the church where she was baptized, confirmed and married in. She will be lovingly remember by all who knew her as being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The beloved wife of the late George J. Doucette, she was the loving mother of Michelle A. Doucette of Milford and the late Carolyn Doucette Lombard. Sister of the late Harry, Jerry, Romeo, Atillio, Edison, Elvira and Grace. Cherished grandmother of Kristen Smith of West Chester OH, Heidi Johnson of Medfield and Erica Stahler of Wheelock VT. Also survived by 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Saturday March 4 at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Needham.
