Obituary

Barbara C. Colucci, age 85, a lifelong resident of Winchester, passed away on September 11, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Carmella (Luongo) Colucci.

Born, raised and educated in Winchester, Barbara was a graduate of Winchester High School with the class of 1953, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Emmanuel College in Boston, graduating cum laude with a B.A. degree in English. Barbara then received her M.A. at the Catholic University in Washington D.C.

Ms. Colucci taught Sophomore English at the Marycliff Academy in Winchester, and English at Howe Junior High School in Billerica. She was employed for many years at Allyn and Bacon in Boston at a textbook editor. In later years, she worked at Winchester Savings Bank, where she met and made many friends and acquaintances.

In her spare time, she enjoyed walking, reading, watching TV and spending time with family and friends. With her warm and wonderful personality, Barbara made many more friends while dealing with her health conditions over the last several months. Her family would like to thank and acknowledge her caregivers for the excellent care she received.

Barbara leaves behind her siblings: Harriet J. Colucci of Winchester, Arthur M. Colucci and his wife Patricia, and Camille A. Colucci, all of Woburn. She was also the devoted aunt of Michael Colucci, Janeen Colucci and her husband Christopher Shea of Methuen.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177Washington Street, Winchester, on Thursday, September 17 at 9AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington Street Winchester, at 10AM, and are reminded to wear masks and adhere to social distancing precautions. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
