Obituary

Sanford - Thomas G. Hansen, 66, of Sanford died on September 8, 2020 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Saco on March 2, 1954 a son of Clyde and Marlene (Haley) Hansen. He was educated in local schools including Sacopee Valley High School in South Hiram. He was proud to have completed his G.E.D. later on in his 30's.

Tom worked hard in the painting and construction field most of his life. He was self-employed for much of his career and also worked for companies such as the Limerick Steeplejacks and for Clifford Phillips Roofing.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked going for car rides, especially to the beach and ocean. He also liked camping at places like Sebec Lake. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren. Tom will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Judy Hansen, a stepson, Jason Lambert, a nephew, "Bub" Hansen, and a great nephew, James Hansen Day. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne (Chretien) Hansen of Sanford. A daughter, Lisa Hansen of South Hiram. A son, Scott Hansen and wife Kelly of South Hiram. A stepdaughter, Melissa Lambert of Boxborough, MA. A sister, Jackie DeWitt and husband Paul of Porter. A brother, Tim Hansen and wife Anna of Cornish. 6 grandchildren: Dylan Doussett, Tiana Dunne, Tristan Hansen, Mikaylie Hansen and Griffin Charles. 6 step grandchildren: Collen Lambert, Alexis Lambert, Maximus Lambert, Romeo Cruz-Bevers, Xavier Cruz-Bevers and Zoey Cruz-Bevers. Also many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, at 11 a.m. at the home of his son, Scott Hansen, at 239 New Settlement Road, Hiram, ME. 04041. A celebration of his life will follow the service. Please follow State guidelines and social distancing.
