Obituary

Norma Jean DelVecchio, 65, of West Side Drive, Johnston, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 9th in RI Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Carmine J. “Del” DelVecchio. They had been married for 30 years and together for 36 years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Laura (Avila) Francis. She had lived in Bristol and Providence before moving to Johnston. Norma had been a House Keeper with the Diocese of Providence.

Besides her husband she leaves her beloved daughter, Wendy A. Forrest of Johnston and a step-son, Stephen DelVecchio of Midlothian, TX. She also leaves her siblings, Judith Tabor of Clearwater, FL, Joanie Francis of Warren and John “Jack” Francis of Bristol. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Linda Pires.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday September 15 at 10am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. A private burial will be held in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday 8:30am – 9:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301
