Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Ann ( Carr) Pantera , 70, of Bellingham, MA died peacefully on Tuesday September 8th at her home after battling Leukemia . It would be wrong to say that Pat lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined.

She is survived by her husband, her three children and eleven grandchildren, who meant everything to her. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Matthew J. Pantera since 1971.

Born in Buffalo, New York , July 23, 1950 the daughter of the late William and Marie Carr and daughter-in-law of the late Dr. Matthew and Margaret Pantera of Buffalo, New York.

Pat had lived in Sturbridge, MA before moving to Bellingham in 2019.

She had been a Registered Nurse who worked her whole career as a maternity nurse at Newton Wellesley Hospital and devoted her life to helping others.

In addition to her husband Pat is survived by her daughter Mary Vitelli and her husband Joe and their children Tobin, Emma, Jocelyn and Brianna of Milford, her son Matthew Pantera and his wife Candice and their sons, Samuel, Benjamin, Nathaniel and Jack of Hopkinton, MA, and her son John Pantera and his wife Allison and their children Julia, Maria and Robert of East Longmeadow, MA.

She is also survived by her eight siblings, Kathleen Comber and her husband Kevin, Tom Carr and his wife Louise, Mary Boryszak and her husband Marty, Rose Clymer and her husband Paul, Joan Renkas and her husband Pete, John Carr and his wife Darcy, Margaret McDermott and William Carr and his wife Renuka.

She was also the sister-in-law to Michael and Sharon Pantera, Martha and Tom Calabrese, Meg and Len Petit, Mary and Dominic Aloisio and Margie Pantera. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 14 in St. Mary’s Church, Church Square, Franklin at 10:00.a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).131 Main Street, Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215.
