Elizabeth's Funeral Mass has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 12 Noon in St. Lawrence Martyr Church, 110 Summer St., New Bedford. A private urn burial will follow.
Elizabeth (Baptiste) Grace, 99, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
She was the wife of the late John P. Grace
Born in Wareham, daughter of the late John Baptiste and Helena Rose, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a dedicated nurse's aide who worked at several nursing homes in New Bedford.
Elizabeth liked playing solitaire, enjoying dinner with her family, and spending time with her family. She also loved watching her soap operas and spending time with her grandkids. She will be remembered as "Auntie Lizzie" to her many nieces and nephews.
She was a proud Catholic and a devout member of St. Lawrence Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Helen Lewis of Richmond, VA, Joyce Macedo and her husband John of Phoenixville, PA, Barbara Rose and her husband Leonard, and Linda Gomes and her husband Albert, all of New Bedford; one son Pedro Grace of Nevada; one sister, Katherine Davis of Florida; one brother, Francis Baptiste; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son John Grace Jr., her siblings, John Baptiste, George Baptiste, Clarence Baptiste, Harold Baptiste, Maurice Baptiste, Richard Baptiste, Margarite Mendoza, and Maryanne Baptiste.
