Obituary

Marilyn F. (Bryant) age 82, of Stoughton, died peacefully at her home, September 3, 2020. Marilyn was born in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late John A. and Hilda F. (Wade) Bryant. She was raised in Boston, and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School and Bryant and Stratton Business School.

Marilyn worked for New England Telephone and Telegraph in Boston for two years until her desire for adventure took her to New York City. There she lived life on her own terms as an independent and strong young woman working at American Telephone and Telegraph and eventually Columbia University where she began to apply her countless business skills. By 1968 Marilyn had returned to Massachusetts where she furthered her career as an administrative assistant at MIT Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics from which she retired.

A classy lady, Marilyn was a fashionista of her time. When she was not spending time talking with family or friends you could find her in the aisles of one of her favorite department stores usually leaving with a brand new pocketbook or hat. A loving person who gave her heart and soul to her family, friends and numerous chihuahuas, Marilyn also found comfort in solitude. Having kicked up her heels in her youth she settled into a quiet life which always offered a cup of coffee and conversation to all she loved.

She was blessed to end A LIFE WELL LIVED at home in the loving care of her only son, Jeffrey. Her contagious laughter and brilliant smile will always live on in our memories.

Marilyn was the mother of Jeffrey A. Mayes of Stoughton; grandmother of Cortney, Andrew and Tyree; sister of Carol A. Bolden of Sharon, Sandra M. Herbert of Moreno Valley, CA and Patricia E. Boyce of Raynham. She is also survived by her godchild Carla M. Bolden of Sharon and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Public Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Massachusetts Thursday, September 10th, from 8:30-10am.
