Obituary

Lawrence C. Thornton, 94, of Manchester, died March 1, 2006, at the Laurel Center, Bedford after a brief illness.

He was born in Manchester, on August 19, 1911 and was the son of John and Catherine (Madden) Thornton.
He was a lifelong resident of Manchester, and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School for Boys.

He was employed by the national Forest Service, the Railway Express Agency and the Waumbec Mill. He was a member of the League of a Thousand Men, of the Precious Blood Monastery. He had many fond memories of summers spent with relatives, at York Beach Maine. He was also an avid sports fan and loved Notre Dame and the Boston Red Sox.

He was predeceased by his wife Jeannette, in 2002.

Family members include several nieces, nephews, and cousins

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday March 4, 2006 in St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel 145 Lowell St. Manchester.

Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown Rd. Manchester.

Memorial donations may be made to the Monastery of the Precious Blood, 700 Bridge St. Manchester 03103.
