LOWELL—Laurie (Jacques) Lavigne, 35 years old, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Friday, February 24th, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Bruce J. Lavigne, who died in 2001.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 2, 1971, the only child of Arthur and Alice (Burton) Jacques, of Lowell.
She attended Lowell schools and had an extensive career in the human service field which included the Julie House, Tewksbury ‘State Hospital Detox, Lowell Community Health Center, and various other human service employments. Laurie dedicated her life to caring for others.
Surviving besides her parents are a daughter: Christina, of Quincy; a sister-in-law: Sherry Lavigne, and godchild Charise, both of Lowell; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorial calling hours from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, March 2nd, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith St. (Rte. 38). A Funeral Service will be held at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Julie House; 48 Lawrence Street; Lowell, MA 01852.
