Obituary

David W. Karnes, life-long Medford resident died Saturday, August 29th surrounded by his loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House Danvers. He was 34.

Born in Melrose, and raised in Medford he was the son of Wayne and the late Loreen (Smith) Karnes. David had a deep passion and knowledge of the Titanic. He loved to follow the history and study the facts about the ship. David would follow everything about the Titanic, if there was a special on TV, you would find him sitting down watching the special and be amazed by all the information. He also enjoyed trains and anything that had to do with trains. David's biggest passion was his family and friends. One person who he shared special bond with was his late grandmother Mary. His love did not just stop with his family but his love for animals, his especially dogs. David's warm caring personally will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David was the beloved son of Wayne Karnes and his late wife Loreen, he was the devoted brother of Cindy Karnes and her husband Neil Gelardi, the loving uncle of Alicia, Ayden, Aubrey Gelardi. He is also survived by his aunts and uncle Lauri Lombard, Leeann, and Uncle Bill Scott and families.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family Tuesday September 8th at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main ST., Medford from 12 to 1 PM. Followed by a procession to Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford where a graveside service will be conducted. All attending must wear face masks and adhere to social distance protocols.
