Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Helen Radewick, 88, a longtime resident of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, August 27, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on September 12, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Aksenia (Kozoil) Rodziewicz. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was employed in the Fine Jewelry Department at the J.C. Penney Department Store at the Ingleside Mall in Holyoke where she received a distinguished service pin for her excellent customer service. Helen previously worked at the former Steiger’s Department Store in downtown Springfield and was a game assembler at the former Milton Bradley Company in Springfield. During her leisure time, Helen enjoyed sitting down at home to solve word search puzzles and spending time with her loving family. She was a devout parishioner at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Springfield. She leaves her loving sister, Mary Kabb of Springfield; her devoted niece, Tina Diaduk and her husband, William, of Lexington Park, MD; and her cherished grand nephew, Nicholas Diaduk and his wife, Laura, of Dameron, MD; and her extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving brother-in-law, John Kabb who was Called Home on May 6, 2013; her two dear sisters, Anna Savas and Olga Penna; and her dear brother, Alexander Radewick, Jr. Helen will Lie in Repose on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 118 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104, the church parking lot is located behind the church on Grosvenor Street, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and the Church capacity is limited due to state regulations). Her burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
