Bernestine (Green) Rowell, 77, died at the Blue Hills Alzheimer’s Care Center in Stoughton on Sunday, February 26 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Noval Rowell. Born in Hot Springs, AR, she graduated from Arkansas Baptist High School in Little Rock, as well as the School of Dental Nursing in Boston. She also attended the South End Music Center in Boston. Mrs. Rowell was a Dental Assistant for several years at Dr. Leo P. Fisher’s office in the South End. She also worked as a lab technician for Polaroid in Waltham for over 15 years and in the cafeteria for Stoughton Public Schools. Mrs. Rowell was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir, the Woman’s Guild and the Bell Choir.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rowell is survived by her brothers, Lonnie Newman of VA and Lloyd Green of IL and her sister, Jewell Robinson of Dorchester. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Rowell.
Funeral Service will be held from the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 157 W. Springfield St., Boston on Saturday, March 4 at 11 AM. Visitation will be prior from 10 AM. Visiting Hours will also be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 5-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
