Obituary

WESTFIELD – Raymond “Ray” A. Rusciano, 54, of Westfield, was Called Home on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on July 8, 1966, a beloved son of Marla G. (Chaffee) Rusciano of Chicopee and the late Joseph Rusciano who was Called Home on August 4, 2011. He was raised in Holyoke and briefly lived in Agawam and Florida before returning to Holyoke, graduated from Dean Vocational High School in Holyoke and had lived in Holyoke before moving to Westfield in 2010. He was employed as a tractor trailer operator for local trucking companies. During his leisure time, he enjoyed driving his 2012 Dodge Challenger R/T, visiting local car shows and was a member of the Car Club of New England. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. In addition to his mother, he leaves his loving sister, Olga M. Walker and her husband, David, of Belchertown; his three loving brothers, Joseph R. Rusciano and his wife, Keri, of Chicopee, Thomas F. Rusciano of Deland, FL and Mario Rusciano and his partner, Sue, of Chicopee; his cherished nieces and nephews, Danielle M. Rusciano, Ryan S. Rusciano, Nicole J. Rusciano, Alexis J. Walker, Tyler L. Rusciano, David A. Walker, III and Melissa S. Walker; his cherished grandnephew, Spencer D. Walker; his loving partner of 20 years, Mary Los of Westfield; and his many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, extended members of the Rusciano and Chaffee families and friends. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his loving sister in law, Kathy L. Rusciano; his beloved paternal grandparents, Frank A. and Olga M. (Petkux) Rusciano; his beloved maternal grandparents, Kenneth H. Chaffee and Marjorie E. (Decker) Okscin; and his dear uncle, Donald Okscin. His family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. Celebration of Life Service at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open 9:30 a.m.). The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home capacity is limited due to state regulations). His Burial will follow the Celebration of Life Service at Fairview Cemetery on Abbey Memorial Drive in Chicopee, In Lieu of flowers, Ray would appreciate it if family and friends would tune their cars, check their air pressure in their tires, make sure their gas tanks are full, that they stay safe, they hit the open road, they put their feet in the ocean and they love and live every day as if it is their last.
