Merle Kathryn Cauthen Hornsby, 90 of Lenox passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A private service and burial will be held for Mrs. Hornsby at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born January 14, 1930 in Eldorado, Mrs. Hornsby was the daughter of the late C. R. Cauthen and Ruby Owen Cauthen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hornsby; two sisters, Margaret and Marilyn; and two brothers, Roy and Jimmy. She was a homemaker and loved being with her family, gardening and birdwatching.
Mrs. Hornsby is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Jordan of Tifton and Charles Jordan of Naples, Florida; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Harvey Collins of Eldorado, Kathy Anderson of Tifton and Rhonda and Mike MacDonald of Fitzgerald; one sister, Martha Narofsky of Eldorado; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
