RUSSELL H. FERGUSON, JR. , 77, of Hingham, died on Monday, Feb. 27th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Mr. Ferguson was born in Hingham and was a lifelong resident of the town. He attended Hingham Public Schools and Franklin Institute in Boston. For many years he was a salesman for Colman's Sporting Goods in Quincy Square. Mr. Ferguson was also a former member of the Old Colony Lodge of Odd Fellows in Hingham.
He leaves his wife, Irene M. (Dunn) Ferguson of Hingham and four children; Jeffrey A. Ferguson of Whitman, Lynda I. MacDougall of East Weymouth, Wayne R. Ferguson of Newburgh, NY and Brian W. Ferguson of Brockton. Also survived by 7 grand-children. He was the brother of the late Barbara May Ferguson.
Funeral Services Friday, March 3rd at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.
Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Congress St., Boston, MA 02110 or to the Perkins Institute for the Blind, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02172.
The interment is to be private.
