Doris Mae Smith, 89, formerly of Pocasset Lane in Johnston passed Monday August 17th in Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Billy Wright Smith. They had been married for fifty-four years.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Aldore and Marion (Maine) Faford. She had lived in Providence before moving to Johnston.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
She leaves her children, Thomas W. Smith and his wife Frances of Prosper, Texas, Cheryl Lopes and her husband Dan of Conway, South Carolina, Rhonda Keene and her husband David of Smithfield and Gary Smith and his partner, Alex, of Cranston. She leaves nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Carolyn Beanland of Warwick. She is predeceased by her brother, Donald Faford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Visitation and Burial Private. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Hebert’s nursing Home Patient Care Account, 180 Log Road, Smithfield, RI 02917
