Fisher, of Brockton, July 13, 2002, Alton H. Fisher, 78 years. Husband of the late Florence (Langdon) Fisher. Beloved father of Deborah Ford and her husband Douglas of Brockton. Devoted grandfather of Scott and Brett Ford of Brockton, brother in law of Esther DeNunno of Brockton and dear friend of Mattalaine Cranford of Brockton.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater, at 11:30am. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday 5-8pm. Arrangements by the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton.
Obituary Information
Mr. Fisher died unexpectedly Saturday morning at the Brockton Hospital. He was born and raised in Brockton the son of the late Alton H. and Mary (Pickering) Fisher. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1943. During WWII, he served in the US Army as a Tech Fifth Grade, and received both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. For many years Mr. Fisher had been employed by the US Post Office, as a coordinator for the Civil Service Exam. He was an avid sports fan and member of the Masons, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah Ford of Brockton, 2 grandsons Scott and Brett Ford, his sister in law Esther DeNunno of Brockton, and his dear friend Mattalaine Cranford also of Brockton.
