Obituary

WORCESTER_____Dilenia “Nena” Melo Alcantara, 64, of Worcester passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday August 15, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Roberto Melo. She leaves her siblings, Altagracia Alcantara, Rina Alcantara, Sarah Alcantara, Mary Alcantara, Carmen Thomas all of Worcester MA and, Violeta Alcanatara of Dominican Republic, Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is pre deceased by her father Arturo Thomas, her mother Martina Alcantara and her brothers Arturo Thomas, Hector Thomas, and sister Juana Alcantara. She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and moved to the United States in 2000 and worked in area hotels as a housekeeper. She would attend church every Sunday at Abrigo del altisimo in Worcester MA, and loved to spread the word of god with whoever she came across. She loved everyone around her and always made sure to put a smile on everyone she came across face. Dilenia’s hobby was crocheting tubies for her friends and family, she also enjoyed going to the farms to pick fruit and have ice cream afterwards. Nena we will forever carry you in our hearts we love you.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am following current limitations and mask requirements. A funeral service in the funeral home will follow. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester, MA.

Ella Nacio en Santo Dominigo Republica Dominicana el 1 de Junio, 1956. y se mudó a los Estados Unidos en 2000 y trabajó en hoteles del área como ama de llaves. Dilenia Pre fallecida por su padre Arturo Thomas, su madre Martina Alcantara y sus hermanos Arturo Thomas, Héctor Thomas,y Juana Alcantara. Le sobrevive su esposo, Roberto Melo. sus hermanas, Altagracia Alcantara, Rina Alcantara, Sarah Alcantara, Mary Alcantara, Carmen Thomas todas de Worcester MA y Violeta Alcanatara de República Dominicana, Varias sobrinas, sobrinos, primos y amigos. Asistía a la iglesia todos los domingos en Abrigo del altisimo en Worcester MA, y le encantaba difundir la palabra de Dios con quienquiera que se encontrara. Amaba a todos los que la rodeaban y siempre se aseguraba de poner una sonrisa en todos los que se encontraban. El pasatiempo de Dilenia era tejer tubies de ganchillo para sus amigos y familiares, también le gustaba ir a las granjas a recoger fruta y tomar un helado después. Te Amaremos siempre Nena.

Se llevará a cabo una hora de llamada el miércoles 19 de agosto de 2020 de 10:30 a.m. a 11:30 a.m. siguiendo las limitaciones actuales y los requisitos de máscaras. Seguirá un funeral en la funeraria. El entierro será en Hope Cemetery, Worcester, MA.
