
Domenico Pietrolungo, age 89, passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family at his home on Friday night. Born and raised in Alanno, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Gabriele and the late Laura (DiMichele) Pietrolungo. He, his wife Carolina and two sons came to the United States in 1967, first living in Boston's North End and then settled in Medford where they lived for over 40 years. Domenico was a hard-working man and was a member of Laborer's Local 22. He provided a good life for his family and was guided by a spirit of generosity towards all he knew. He was an avid hunter up through last year's season. He loved his dogs, and spending time with his family and friends. He is remembered as a good neighbor and friend to many. Domenico will be missed by all who knew him.
The beloved husband of Carolina (DiMascio) Pietrolungo, he was a devoted father to Ivo Pietrolungo and his wife Theresa, and Bruno Pietrolungo. He was the loving grandfather of Karla Pietrolungo, and Anthony Pietrolungo and his companion Eleni. He also leaves his loving great-grandchildren: Domenic, Alexa, and Cameron.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, August 19 from 9:30 to 11 AM followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Covid-19 protocols will be followed.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Domenico's name to St. Joseph Parish, 118 High Street, Medford, MA 02155 for the care of the poor.
